Introduction

The Women’s Fellowship of St. Mark’s Cathedral plays an important role in the life and ministry of the Church. It also comes under the purview of the Women’s Fellowship of the CSI Karnataka Central Diocese and is affiliated with the Civil Area Zone of the Diocese.

Rules of Membership

All women who are communicant members of the Church can become members of the Women’s Fellowship and participate in its activities whether enrolled or not.

However, only enrolled and subscribing members are the electoral members of the Fellowship.

Members of other Churches, but only those worshipping with CSI, may become associate members of the Women’s Fellowship.

We invite young women aged 20 years and above to join the Fellowship and help take forward the women’s ministry into the future.

Objectives of the Fellowship

The vision statement given by the CSI Women’s Fellowship is “Arise and Shine.”

The Fellowship seeks to:

• Uphold the spiritual life of members by uniting them in prayer, service, and witness.
• Train women for leadership in the Church and community.
• Serve the underprivileged and promote social justice.
• Uphold the sanctity of Christian marriage.
• Nurture children with Christian values.

Finance

In order to make the Women’s Fellowship self-supporting, each member contributes an annual subscription.

The subscription amount of the Women’s Fellowship of St. Mark’s Cathedral is ₹750 per annum.

The Cathedral also extends financial support whenever required for organizing programmes and activities.

The Women’s Fellowship of each church pays an annual affiliation fee to both the Zonal and Diocesan Women’s Fellowship, which in turn pay an annual affiliation fee to the Women’s Fellowship Central Committee, CSI Synod.

St. Mark’s Cathedral Women’s Fellowship

At present, we are a fellowship of 82 members, with many more supporters from the congregation, and we warmly invite more women to take up membership.

We meet on the second Friday of every month at 4:00 PM for a time of praise and worship, sharing from the Word of God, intercessory prayer, and planning for the forthcoming month.

Our activities include:

• Organising seminars
• Conducting Lenten retreats, including participation from women of other churches
• Breakfast sales for fundraising
• Harvest Festival stalls
• Women’s Sunday celebrations
• Christmas Programme
• Annual Picnic
• Participation in Civil Area and Diocesan Women’s Fellowship programmes
• Participation in inter-church competitions

Outreach Activities

Our outreach ministry includes visits and support to several children's homes and institutions within and beyond the Diocese.

• Chikkaballapur / Doddaballapur Pre-Schools
• New Life Home for Girls
• Mithralaya Boarding Home
• Great Joy Children’s Care Centre
• Arpana School for Differently Abled Children
• Education sponsorship programme for a child through Nav Jeevan Seva Mandal (NSM)

We also extend assistance to several elder-care institutions:

• CSI Hospital Geriatric Ward
• KCD Seniors Home, Channapatna
• Friend in Need Society

Our goal is to continually expand our involvement in social causes and community service initiatives.
