Music Ministry

School of Church Music

Training and nurturing musicians to serve the church through sacred music.

The St. Mark’s Ecumenical Centre for Church Music, located at the Cathedral, was established in 1990 with the objective of training musicians and music enthusiasts in church music. The centre is open to all people, irrespective of religion, denomination, or church affiliation.

Students are trained to prepare for examinations conducted by the Trinity College of Music and the Royal Schools of Music in areas such as violin, piano, music theory, and vocal music.

As part of St. Mark’s Cathedral Bicentenary celebrations in 2007–2008, several music initiatives and programs were launched to strengthen the role of sacred music in worship and community life.
