Greetings to all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

‘Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it’ – Proverbs 22:6

The goal of Sunday school is to lead children towards Christ and enrich them with His knowledge and love, and make them as His disciples. In my view, bringing up children towards Christ is a step by step and a continual process. As part of the continual process, they need to be fed with the spiritual food every day. Bible is the spiritual food. That’s why Jesus Said, “Man shall not live by bread along but by every work that proceeds from the mouth of God”. Each child should read the Bible daily and internalize His teachings and have a closer conversation with Him through prayers.

As part of step by step process, they should grow continually step by step in His understanding, knowledge and love. They should able to distinguish between good and evil. Their lies His wisdom. The generation Y is exposed with globalization and information burst. The world became a battlefield. The “Sword of the Spirit” is their weapon. Every day, they should study the Bible and sharpening their spiritual sword.

The next step is they should grow in His Love. “You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind”. “For Lord so loved the word that he gave His only begotten Son”. Finally, once they tasted the love of God, they can not keep it themselves. As a guiding light, they should spread the love of Jesus to others and the word. And thereby, they should be part of the great commission that he has instructed as to do- “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”.

We, as parents, teachers and clergy, are responsible to bring up the children according to Christian values and principles, and leading them towards Christ.

St. Marks Sunday School has got committed, passionate, dedicated teachers, volunteers and leaders. I hope that with Gods Strength and Grace we should be able to lead the Children towards Christ and bring them up as a good citizen of this world and the eternal world.

May our Lord continually bless this ministry and people who are part of the ministry in multiple folds.

In Prayers,
