Greetings to you from St. Mark’s Cathedral, Bangalore!
We are facing an unprecedented crisis due to Covid -19 pandemic. This letter comes to you to offer prayers and encouragement and particularly to express our solidarity with those whose pain is intensified by the direct impact on their families.
As our country continues its attempt to halt the novel corona virus outbreak, several sections of our society are struggling to get even basic needs for their survival. During this time of great turmoil and isolation, our St. Mark’s Cathedral through Sub-Committees such as the Program Committee, the National Issues and Ecumenical Concerns Committee, the Community Care Committee and the Men’s Fellowship has initiated Operation Good Samaritan to distribute essential grocery items to the needy in and around Bangalore and through Mission and Evangelism Committee to our Mission Fields in neighboring districts.
Reaching out to feed the hungry is no more an option, but it is an obligation and our duty as Christians. We, as members of St. Mark’s Cathedral the City Church, should stand up for those who are suffering. I urge you all to express your solidarity to this effort in reaching out to the less fortunate. Please support us with your prayers and as the Lord leads you offer your generous contributions so that we can reach more people and we will be united in this effort.
Kindly note our bank details to send your contributions.

On 10th May’2020 Mission & Evangelism Team touched the lives of poor and daily wagers from five villages in Chicbalapur by doing our little bit. We distributed 350 grocery kits to the needy in Madrenahalli, Ganganahalli, Hosa Road, Kochanahalli and Kollehalli. The expression of gratitude on their face moved us beyond words and we are grateful to God for using us in these times of crisis. All this would not have been possible without the passionate and unrelenting support of our padre, convenor Ms. Christy Joseph and M&E Team. We also take this opportunity to thank the people who have sponsored.
Our field missionary Steven Robin ensured that all the arrangements for distribution was made within the social distancing guidelines. A special thanks to Anand for getting the permission to go ahead with this task and being there from early morning ensuring all the arrangement for seamless distribution. We take this opportunity to thank PC members and church office staffs for rendering their support.
