Aims & Goals\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

AIMS<\/h3>\n

1.It has been felt that progressively the Cathedral has become very inward looking and detached from the mainstream.There are many pressing human needs in society and we do not seemed to overly concerned about them.<\/p>\n

Therefore this committee aims to focus on them, hihglight the actions which could be taken and motivate people to participate in ths venture.<\/p>\n

  1. Our Church is the Cathedral Church and can very well be called the City Church. Therefore, it behoves us to take the lead.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Accordingly, we rpopose to have a dialogue with other Churches and Denominations.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Somewhere,we seem to have lost sight of what our Lord did, viz;Teach, Preach & Heal.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      We should take a lead in the Diocese to bring the emphasis \u00a0back to these basics.<\/p>\n

      GOALS<\/h3>\n
        \n
      1. To conduct seminars\/workshops to identify the pressing human needs and evolve action plans to meet them to the extent possible.<\/li>\n
      2. To involve our congregation members in the above activities and also coordinate with iother Churches in furthering these goals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        3.To suggest to the Diocese and also participate in the following:<\/p>\n

        (a)\u00a0TEACH<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 To shift the focus from the elitist schools and spend more time, energy & money on other schools.<\/p>\n

        (b)\u00a0PREACH<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0Both National Issues & Ecumenical relations & \u00a0Mission & Evangelism Committees work together to take forward evangelization, which has taken a back seat in most mainline churches, including the CSI.<\/p>\n

        (c)\u00a0HEAL<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 To help in the revival of the CSI hospitals . The Chanapatna hospital has closed down, the Chikkabalapur is in a bad shape, and the Bangalore CSI Hospital needs all the help it can get.<\/p>\n

        Aims & Goals Achieved : The following programmes have been conducted<\/em><\/strong> :<\/p>\n

        2014-15\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 :- \u00a0General elections<\/em><\/strong>
        \nSeminar on Can Christians make a difference ?\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

        Eminent politicians from Congress, BJP, Aap,JDS\u00a0 were speakers .<\/p>\n

        Congregation & members from different denominations attaneded..<\/p>\n

        Christmas for All<\/strong>\u00a0 which is organised every December wherein religious leaders from different faiths attend our programme and speak about the relevance of Christmas and Christ\u2019s teachings. It is wonderful to see all faiths sing\u00a0 Christmas carols alongwith us.<\/p>\n

        2015- 16 \u2013 Programmes & seminars held<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

        Church & The Christian<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 Prof C.T Kurien prepared the background note .<\/p>\n

        This topic was to bring out the differences in the perception of Clergy & the Laity. \u00a0It was well attended by various denominations.<\/p>\n

        There was a open forum\u00a0 where many queries were answered.<\/p>\n

        Minority Schemes & Benefits \u2013Govt of India & Karnataka.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

        Jointly organised alongwith Karantaka Welfare Development Authority.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

        A seminar was held which \u00a0was well attended and\u00a0 the speakers were the<\/p>\n

        Minority Minister of State, Shri. Tanveer Sait,<\/p>\n

        Chairman \u2013 Minority commission,IAS<\/p>\n

        Ivan D\u2019souza- MLC<\/p>\n

        Prominent IAS officers attended .<\/p>\n

        INTER FAITH RELATIONS & DIALOGUE<\/h3>\n

        St. Marks\u2019 through this committee interfaces with all Heads of all other Faiths.We regularly interatct and attend important meetings with the following leaders.<\/p>\n

        Rainbow Forum for peace & Harmony amongst all religions\u00a0 held in remembrance of Fr. Ronnie Prabhu .<\/p>\n

        Jain Community Programme held at Freedom Park in April 2017.<\/p>\n
